Charles 'Lefty' Driesell is an American former college basketball coach and player. He was born on December 25, 1931 in Norfolk, Virginia. He attended Duke University, where he played basketball and baseball. After graduating in 1953, he began his coaching career at Davidson College. He then moved on to Maryland, where he coached for 17 years and led the Terrapins to the NCAA Final Four in 2001. He also coached at James Madison, Georgia State, and Navy. Driesell was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007. He is also a member of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame and the College Basketball Hall of Fame. Driesell has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
