Buzz Barton was born on 3 September, 1913 in Gallatin, MO. He was an American film actor who was best known for his roles in westerns. He was nicknamed "The Boy Wonder of Westerns" and "Red Lennox" and "Billy Lamar". Barton began his career in the early 1930s, appearing in a number of westerns and serials. He was a regular in the Three Mesquiteers series, appearing in over a dozen films. He also appeared in a number of other westerns, including The Law of 45's (1935), The Lawless Nineties (1936), and The Lone Ranger Rides Again (1939). Barton retired from acting in the 1940s and went on to become a successful real estate broker in California. He passed away on October 15, 2002 at the age of 89.

During WW II Barton enlisted in the US Navy, and was a crewman aboard the USS Missouri when the Japanese signed surrender documents on that ship in 1945.

1930

Freckle-faced American child star of B-westerns, an adept junior rider and roper, in films from the age of eleven. His studio, the Poverty Row outfit FBO, billed him as "The World's Greatest Juvenile Rider and Western Star" (he also had the moniker of "The Boy Wonder of Westerns"). Buzz was popular for awhile in the 1930's, before his appeal waned and he left show business for the rodeo circuit. A series of "Buzz Barton Special Daisy Air Rifles" were named after him.
