Griffeth has been with CNBC since 1989 and is one of the longest-serving anchors on the network. Griffeth was born in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in broadcast journalism. He began his career in broadcasting in 1979 as a reporter for KABC-TV in Los Angeles. He then moved to KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, where he was a reporter and anchor from 1981 to 1989. In 1989, Griffeth joined CNBC as an anchor and reporter. He has since become one of the network's most recognizable faces, hosting the Closing Bell program from 3-5 p.m. ET. He also contributes to other CNBC programs, including Squawk Box and Power Lunch. Griffeth has won numerous awards for his work, including the National Headliner Award, the Society of Professional Journalists Award, and the Edward R. Murrow Award.
