Bill Gay was born in 1927 in the United States. He was a professional basketball player who played for the Minneapolis Lakers and the St. Louis Hawks. He was a two-time All-Star and was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 1956. Gay was 6 feet, 4 inches tall and weighed 205 pounds. He attended the University of Minnesota and was drafted by the Minneapolis Lakers in the 1950 NBA Draft. Gay was married to his wife, Mary, for over 50 years. They had two children together. Gay retired from basketball in 1961 and went on to become a successful businessman. He owned a number of businesses, including a restaurant, a real estate company, and a construction company. Gay passed away in 2009 at the age of 81. He was inducted into the Minnesota Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010.
