Bernard Yeung is an American economist and academic. He is currently the Dean of the National University of Singapore Business School and the Stephen Riady Distinguished Professor of Finance and Accounting. He is also a professor of finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Yeung was born in 1953 in the United States. He received his B.A. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1975 and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1979. Yeung has held various academic positions throughout his career, including professor of finance at the University of Michigan, professor of finance at the University of Hong Kong, and professor of finance at the University of Chicago. He has also held visiting positions at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Tokyo. Yeung has published numerous books and articles on finance, accounting, and economics. He is the author of the book Corporate Governance and Financial Performance (Oxford University Press, 2006). He is also the editor of the Handbook of Corporate Governance (Oxford University Press, 2008). Yeung is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a Fellow of the Econometric Society. He is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Finance Association.
