She also appeared in television series such as The Twilight Zone, The Fugitive, and The Virginian. Baxley was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film A Patch of Blue (1965). She also appeared in the films The Graduate (1967) and The Great Gatsby (1974).
