Ashley Wright is a former English cricketer who played for Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. He was born on 21 October 1980 in Grantham, United Kingdom. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Wright made his first-class debut for Nottinghamshire in 2001 and went on to play for them until 2006. He then moved to Leicestershire in 2007 and played for them until his retirement in 2011. During his career, he scored 1,945 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 24.90 and took 97 wickets at an average of 33.90. Wright also played in the English domestic Twenty20 competition, the Friends Provident t20, for Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. He scored 545 runs in the competition at an average of 22.70 and took 24 wickets at an average of 28.45. Wright is currently the head coach of the Nottinghamshire Second XI. He is also a coach at the Trent Bridge Cricket Academy. As of 2021, Ashley Wright's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.

In May 2019, he was named in Guernsey's squad for the 2019 T20 Inter-Insular Cup. He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Guernsey against Jersey on 31 May 2019. The same month, he was named in Guernsey's squad for the Regional Finals of the 2018–19 ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier tournament in Guernsey.

2016

In January 2016, Wright was appointed director of cricket for the Guernsey Cricket Board (GCB), a position which includes the role of head coach of the Guernsey national team. He succeeded Nic Pothas.
