Apollo Chen is a Taiwanese politician who has served as the Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council since 2016. He was born in Taipei, Taiwan, on 28 September 1957. Chen graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in law in 1982. He then went on to pursue a master's degree in public administration from the University of Southern California in the United States. Chen began his career in politics in 1989, when he was appointed as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Executive Yuan. He then served as the Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council from 1993 to 1996. In 1996, Chen was appointed as the Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council, a position he held until 2000. He then served as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Presidential Office from 2000 to 2004. In 2004, Chen was appointed as the Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council for a second time, a position he held until 2016. He was then appointed as the Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council for a third time in 2016, a position he still holds today. Chen is married and has two children.
