Son Aseem Agrawal debuted as an actor in Fight Club (2006). He has now migrated to Los Angeles, America. He is married to Meenakshi Verma Agrawal. Anirudh's daughter Kapila Agarwal debuted in Bunty Aur Babli as an actress. She now also is married and settled in Boston, America. She does alot of fashion shows. She also works as a architect.

He also starred in a few Hollywood films such as Bandit Queen (1994), Such A Long Journey (1998), and The Jungle Book (1994). Some of his films are telecast regularly on popular television channels.

He had graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1974 from Roorkee University, which is now known as the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. His enterprising personality had made him the representative in sports in his school and college by the age of 19. In Roorkee University, he had fought for the students rights as General Secretary of the youth council. At that time, the students were compelled to wear white as the earlier aristocratic British class, which was objectionable as many students couldn't afford it due to their backgrounds. After he had completed his graduation in Civil Engineering, he traveled to Bombay (Mumbai) with only Rs. 100 to pursue acting. Although most people wouldn't know him by name from his films, he is surely known by his intimidating looks to most.
