Angel Coulby is an English actress best known for her role as Guinevere in the BBC fantasy series Merlin. She has also appeared in films such as The Tunnel and The Knot, and in television series such as The Bill, Casualty, and Doctors. Coulby was born in London, England, on 30 August 1980. She attended the Anna Scher Theatre School in Islington, London, and graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2003. Coulby's first major role was in the BBC drama series The Bill, in which she played the role of PC Sally Armstrong from 2004 to 2006. She then went on to appear in the BBC medical drama series Casualty, and the BBC One drama series Doctors. In 2008, Coulby was cast as Guinevere in the BBC fantasy series Merlin, which ran for five seasons until 2012. She also appeared in the films The Tunnel and The Knot, and in the television series The Musketeers. In 2020, Coulby starred in the BBC One drama series The Split, playing the role of Hannah Stern. Coulby is also a voice actor, having provided the voice of the character of Kida in the English dub of the Japanese animated film Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Coulby returned to stage for the first time since 2014 in Rupert Goold's Albion at the Almeida Theatre in February 2020. It was revealed Coulby joined the cast of the Apple TV+ thriller Suspicious, which is a remake of the Hebrew language series False Flag (TV series), in March 2020.
