Ananda Kumarasiri is a Sri Lankan lawyer and politician. He is a former Member of Parliament for the United National Party (UNP). He was first elected to Parliament in 1989 and served until 2001. He was re-elected in 2004 and served until 2010. Kumarasiri is a graduate of the University of Colombo, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree. He was called to the Bar in 1979 and has since practiced as an Attorney-at-Law. He has also served as a member of the Sri Lanka Bar Council. Kumarasiri is a member of the UNP and has held various positions in the party. He was the party's Deputy Leader from 2001 to 2004 and was the party's General Secretary from 2004 to 2010. He has also served as the party's Deputy Leader in the Western Province. Kumarasiri is married to Jayanthi Kumarasiri and they have two children. He is currently living in Colombo.
