Timeline

1915

Entering the film business in 1915, Scott Dunlap worked his way up through the ranks and became a director in 1919. He worked steadily, though unspectacularly, directing many low- and medium-budget films, often Westerns, for various studios. He left film production with the coming of sound and became a talent agent and business manager, notably of cowboy star Buck Jones, and the two became close friends (in fact, Dunlap was injured in the fire in the Coconut Grove nightclub in which Jones died).
