Ronyell Whitaker is an American former professional football player who played cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Virginia Tech. Whitaker attended Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk, Virginia, where he was a two-time All-State selection and a USA Today All-American. He was also a member of the National Honor Society. Whitaker played college football at Virginia Tech, where he was a three-year starter and a two-time All-Big East selection. He finished his college career with nine interceptions and was a member of the 2000 team that won the BCS National Championship. Whitaker was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the fourth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played four seasons with the Chargers, appearing in 48 games and recording three interceptions. He was released by the Chargers in 2007 and signed with the New Orleans Saints, but was released before the start of the season. Whitaker retired from football in 2008 and is now a personal trainer and motivational speaker. He is also the founder of the Ronyell Whitaker Foundation, which provides scholarships to high school students in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia.

Whitaker spent a brief stint with the Detroit Lions (NFL) before being released just before the beginning of 2008-2009 season. Whitaker then signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. He was released on June 25, 2009.

In 2006, he led NFL Europe in interceptions and defensive touchdowns, with 141 return yards and two touchdowns, and was named to the All NFL Europe team. In one of his games in the NFLE in 2006, his 100-yard interception return for a score was his team's sole touchdown of the game. On November 6, 2007, the Vikings released him.
