Roger Hanshaw is an American politician who currently serves as the Speaker of the West Virginia House of Delegates. He was first elected to the House of Delegates in 2012 and was re-elected in 2014 and 2016. He was elected Speaker of the House in 2018. Hanshaw was born in Charleston, West Virginia, and graduated from Charleston Catholic High School in 1998. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University in 2002. He then attended the West Virginia University College of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2005. Hanshaw is married to his wife, Jennifer, and they have two children. He is a member of the West Virginia Bar Association and the West Virginia State Bar. He is also a member of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the West Virginia Business and Industry Council. Hanshaw is a member of the Republican Party and has served in the West Virginia House of Delegates since 2012. He was elected Speaker of the House in 2018. He is a strong advocate for economic development and job creation in West Virginia.
