Raymond Baxter was an English television presenter, writer, and actor. He was best known for presenting the BBC television series Tomorrow's World from 1965 to 1977. He was also a regular presenter on the BBC's coverage of the Farnborough Air Show. Baxter was born in Ilford, Essex, England, on 25 January 1922. He served in the Royal Air Force during World War II, and was a pilot in the Battle of Britain. After the war, he worked as a journalist and broadcaster. Baxter was a popular presenter on Tomorrow's World, and was known for his enthusiasm for science and technology. He was also a regular presenter on the BBC's coverage of the Farnborough Air Show. Baxter wrote several books, including The World of Tomorrow's World (1975), and was the author of the autobiography Flying High (1984). Baxter died on 15 September 2006, aged 84.
