Englishman Owen Hall was active on Broadway as a playwright and lyricist from 1896 until his death in April, 1907 (see "Other Works") the day before his 54th birthday. He died shortly after the run of his hit "The Little Cherub" ended at the Grand Opera House after 176 performances. His works continued to be revived on Broadway through 1931 (his songs were incorporated into the moderate musical comedy hit "Hold Your Horses" in 1933).
