Noboru Uchiyama is a Japanese professional boxer who has held the WBA super featherweight title from 1981 to 1983. He was born on April 20, 1954 in Kanoya, Kagoshima, Japan. Uchiyama began his professional boxing career in 1977 and won his first title, the Japanese super featherweight title, in 1979. He won the WBA super featherweight title in 1981 and defended it three times before losing it in 1983. He retired from boxing in 1985 with a record of 33 wins, 5 losses, and 1 draw. Uchiyama is considered one of the greatest Japanese boxers of all time. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2006.
