Mike Layton is a Canadian politician who has served as the Deputy Outreach Director for the City of Toronto since 2018. He was previously a Toronto City Councillor for Ward 19, Trinity-Spadina, from 2010 to 2018. Layton was born in North York, Toronto, Canada, on November 26, 1980. He is the son of former Toronto mayor Jack Layton and former Toronto city councillor Olivia Chow. He attended the University of Toronto, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. Layton was first elected to Toronto City Council in 2010, and was re-elected in 2014. During his time on City Council, he served as the Chair of the Parks and Environment Committee, and was a member of the Executive Committee. Layton is a strong advocate for environmental sustainability, and has been a vocal supporter of the City of Toronto's Climate Change Action Plan. He has also been a vocal advocate for affordable housing, and has worked to ensure that Toronto remains an affordable and livable city. Layton is married to Sarah Layton, and they have two children. He is an avid cyclist, and enjoys playing hockey and soccer.

Layton is the son of former federal New Democratic Party (NDP) leader and former city councillor Jack Layton and his first wife Sally Halford and step-son of Layton's second wife, former NDP Member of Parliament for Trinity—Spadina and city councillor Olivia Chow. He is the great-great-great-nephew of William Steeves, a Father of Confederation.
