Masashi Owada is a Japanese diplomat and the current Ambassador of Japan to the United Kingdom. He was born on 28 July 1981 in Takahagi, Ibaraki, Japan. He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 2004 with a degree in law. He began his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2004, and has since held various positions in the ministry, including Director of the International Legal Affairs Division, Director of the International Legal Affairs Bureau, and Deputy Director-General of the International Legal Affairs Bureau. In 2018, he was appointed Ambassador of Japan to the United Kingdom. He is the first Japanese ambassador to the UK since the end of World War II. Masashi Owada is married to Princess Hisako of Takamado, the daughter of the late Prince Takamado. They have two children. As of 2021, Masashi Owada's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
