Marvin Switzer is an American former professional football player who played defensive back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Giants. He was born on October 28, 1954 in Bogue, Kansas. Switzer attended Kansas State University, where he was a two-time All-Big Eight selection. He was drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round of the 1977 NFL Draft. He played for the Chiefs from 1977 to 1981, and then for the Giants from 1982 to 1983. Switzer was a two-time Pro Bowl selection, in 1979 and 1980. He was also named to the All-Pro team in 1980. He finished his career with 18 interceptions and four fumble recoveries. After his playing career, Switzer became a coach. He was the defensive backs coach for the Chiefs from 1984 to 1988, and then the defensive coordinator for the Chiefs from 1989 to 1991. He was also the defensive backs coach for the San Diego Chargers from 1992 to 1994. As of 2021, Marvin Switzer's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
