Age, Biography and Wiki

Mark Weiser was an American computer scientist and the Chief Technology Officer at Xerox PARC. He is widely credited as the father of ubiquitous computing, a term he coined in 1988. He was born on July 23, 1952 in Harvey, Illinois. Weiser received his B.A. in mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1974 and his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1979. He then joined Xerox PARC in 1980, where he worked until his death in 1999. At Xerox PARC, Weiser developed the concept of ubiquitous computing, which he described as "the most profound change in computing since the invention of the microprocessor." He argued that computers should be embedded in everyday objects and environments, allowing people to interact with them in a natural way. Weiser was also a pioneer in the field of tangible computing, which he described as "the use of physical objects as interfaces to digital information." He developed the concept of "active badges," which allowed people to be tracked and identified within a building. Weiser was a prolific writer and speaker, and his work has been widely cited in the fields of computer science and human-computer interaction. He was the author of several books, including The Computer for the 21st Century (1991) and The Age of Spiritual Machines (1999). Weiser died of cancer on April 27, 1999, at the age of 47.
