Laurens Jan Anjema is a Dutch professional squash player. He was born on 1 December 1982 in The Hague, Netherlands. He is currently ranked as the world's number one squash player. Anjema began playing squash at the age of seven and was coached by his father, Jan Anjema. He won his first professional tournament in 2001 and has since gone on to win numerous titles, including the Dutch Open in 2004 and the British Open in 2008. Anjema has represented the Netherlands in the World Team Squash Championships and the European Team Squash Championships. He has also competed in the Commonwealth Games and the World Games. Anjema is currently sponsored by Dunlop and is a member of the Professional Squash Association. He is married to fellow squash player, Annelize Naude. In July 2018, Anjema won the World Masters Squash Championships Men's Over-35 title in Charlottesville, Virginia, defeating fellow former professional Alister Walker 3-1 (11-7, 11-5, 7-11, 11-2).

2011

In 2011, Anjema reached the final of the US Open and won the Netsuite Open in San Francisco against Omar Mosaad in the final. At the end of the year, he qualified for the 2011 PSA World Series Finals, the top 8 players of the PSA World Series in 2011.
