Larry King is an American television and radio host, actor, and writer. He is best known for his CNN talk show, Larry King Live, which ran for 25 years from 1985 to 2010. He has also hosted the Larry King Show on Mutual Radio Network from 1978 to 1994, and the Larry King Now show on Hulu and RT America from 2012 to 2020. King was born Lawrence Harvey Zeiger on November 19, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in a Jewish family and attended Lafayette High School in Brooklyn. After graduating, he worked as a radio and television announcer in Florida. King began his career in broadcasting in 1957, when he was hired as a radio announcer for WAHR-AM in Miami Beach. He later moved to Washington, D.C., where he worked as a radio and television announcer for the Mutual Broadcasting System. In 1978, he began hosting the Larry King Show on Mutual Radio Network, which ran until 1994. In 1985, King began hosting Larry King Live on CNN, which ran for 25 years until 2010. During his time on the show, he interviewed a wide range of guests, including presidents, celebrities, and everyday people. He also hosted the Larry King Now show on Hulu and RT America from 2012 to 2020. King has been married eight times and has five children. He has been awarded numerous honors, including two Peabody Awards and 10 Cable ACE Awards. He was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1989 and the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1994. As of 2021, Larry King's net worth is estimated to be $144 million.
