Justin Cronin is an American author best known for his post-apocalyptic horror trilogy, The Passage. He was born on October 9, 1980 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He attended Harvard University, where he earned a degree in English and American Literature and Language. Cronin's first novel, Mary and O'Neil, was published in 2001 and won the PEN/Hemingway Award for best first novel. His second novel, The Summer Guest, was published in 2004. His third novel, The Passage, was published in 2010 and was a New York Times bestseller. The Passage was followed by two sequels, The Twelve and The City of Mirrors. Cronin has also written several short stories and essays, which have been published in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and other publications.
