Jule Styne was an English-born American songwriter and composer of popular music. He is best known for his work on Broadway musicals, including Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Gypsy, and Funny Girl. He was nominated for 12 Tony Awards and won three. He also wrote the music for the classic Christmas song "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" Styne was born in London, England, to Jewish parents. He began playing the piano at the age of six and studied music at the Royal Academy of Music. He moved to the United States in 1923 and began working as a songwriter and arranger for various music publishers. In the 1940s, Styne wrote the music for several Broadway musicals, including High Button Shoes, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Gypsy. He also wrote the music for the classic Christmas song "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" Styne was nominated for 12 Tony Awards and won three.
