John Agar was born on January 31, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of a successful businessman and was raised in a wealthy family. He attended the University of Chicago and graduated with a degree in chemistry. John Agar began his acting career in the 1940s, appearing in a number of B-movies. He gained fame for his role in the 1949 film Sands of Iwo Jima, starring John Wayne. He went on to appear in a number of other films, including She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, The Atomic City, and The Mole People. John Agar was married four times and had four children. He was married to actress Shirley Temple from 1945 to 1949. He was married to Loretta Combs from 1951 to 1956, and to actress Lola Albright from 1956 to 1960. He was married to Mary Lou Willey from 1960 until his death in 2002. John Agar's net worth was estimated to be around $2 million at the time of his death.
