Jim Bishop was an American author and journalist who wrote more than 30 books, including biographies of Albert Einstein, Dwight Eisenhower, and Pope John XXIII. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on November 21, 1907. He attended Rutgers University and worked as a reporter for the Jersey Journal and the Newark Evening News. In the 1940s, Bishop began writing books, including The Day Lincoln Was Shot (1955), The Day Christ Died (1960), and The Day Kennedy Was Shot (1968). He also wrote biographies of Albert Einstein (1962), Dwight Eisenhower (1964), and Pope John XXIII (1965). Bishop was a member of the Authors Guild and the American Society of Journalists and Authors. He was awarded the Catholic Book Club Award in 1965 for his biography of Pope John XXIII. He died on June 11, 1987, in San Diego, California.
