She has also released two solo albums, and has acted in several films and television shows. Fay was born in Perth, Scotland, and grew up in Dundee. She began playing the violin at the age of four, and later studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She joined The Corrs in 1990, and the band released their debut album, Forgiven Not Forgotten, in 1995. The album was a success, and the band went on to release three more albums, Talk on Corners (1997), In Blue (2000), and Borrowed Heaven (2004). Fay released her debut solo album, The Hard Way, in 2006. The album featured a mix of traditional Irish music and contemporary pop. She released her second solo album, The Water, in 2011. Fay has also acted in several films and television shows, including The Tudors, The Clinic, and The Tudors: The Complete Series.
