Des Clarke is a Scottish stand-up comedian, radio and television presenter. He was born on 13 January 1981 in Glasgow, Scotland. He is best known for his appearances on BBC Radio Scotland's The Des and Mel Show and BBC One's The One Show. Des Clarke began his career as a stand-up comedian in 2002, performing at various comedy clubs in Scotland. He has since gone on to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. In 2006, Des Clarke was a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards. He has also appeared on BBC Radio Scotland's The Des and Mel Show, BBC One's The One Show, and BBC Three's Russell Howard's Good News. Des Clarke has also presented a number of television shows, including BBC Scotland's The Adventure Show, BBC Three's The Wall, and BBC One's The National Lottery: In It to Win It.
