After leaving Katalyst in 2002, David worked as an independent advisor and executive consultant to many companies in New York and California in the technology, media, and consumer products industries. David has lived internationally in London, Belgium and Madrid. Outside of producing, he is committed to contributing to community, education and the arts.

inc was sold to i2 Technologies in 2000 for over $300 million. After the acquisition, David moved to New York to open the New York office of Katalyst Venture Partners, a Philadelphia-based venture capital and consulting firm, which focused on media, cable, and business services investments.

Mr. Mendez will executive produce The Blob. David started his career at DuPont after earning his engineering degree from Clemson University. After working in several capacities at DuPont in the U. S. and the U. K. , he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to obtain his MBA (he was a Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management full scholarship recipient). His graduate studies included one year of study at the Katholieke Universitiet in Lueven, Belgium.
