Adolfo Horta is a Cuban professional boxer who has competed in the light welterweight and welterweight divisions. He is a two-time world champion, having held the WBA light welterweight title from 1984 to 1985, and the WBA welterweight title from 1988 to 1989. Horta was born on 3 October 1957 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba. He began his professional boxing career in 1979, and won his first world title in 1984, when he defeated American boxer Bruce Curry to become the WBA light welterweight champion. He successfully defended his title twice before losing it to American boxer Meldrick Taylor in 1985. In 1988, Horta won the WBA welterweight title by defeating American boxer Mark Breland. He successfully defended his title twice before losing it to American boxer Pernell Whitaker in 1989. Horta retired from boxing in 1992 with a record of 44 wins (25 by knockout), 8 losses, and 1 draw. He currently resides in Miami, Florida.

Adolfo Horta (3 October 1957 – 28 November 2016) was a Cuban boxer, who won the silver medal in the Men's Featherweight division (– 57 kg) at age 22 at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. He was beaten by East Germany's Rudi Fink on points (1-4). Horta won eleven consecutive national championships and three gold medals in the World Amateur Boxing Championships in different weight classes, but he would never return to the Olympics, as Cuba boycotted the 1984 Summer Olympics.
