Alex Alexander was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on December 20, 1898. He was the son of a Russian-Jewish immigrant family. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and soon became a master of the instrument. At the age of 18, he joined the Swedish Royal Navy and served in the First World War. After the war, he returned to Stockholm and began performing in local clubs. He soon became a popular figure in the Swedish music scene and was invited to perform at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. In the 1930s, Alex Alexander moved to the United States and began performing in New York City. He quickly became a popular figure in the jazz scene and was invited to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. He also performed with some of the most famous jazz musicians of the time, including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Benny Goodman. Alex Alexander continued to perform and record throughout the 1940s and 1950s. He released several albums and singles, including "Alexander's Ragtime Band" and "Alexander's Boogie Woogie". He also wrote and arranged music for films, including "The Jazz Singer" and "The Benny Goodman Story". Alex Alexander passed away in New York City on April 15, 1975, at the age of 76.
