He has written songs for many of Brazil's most famous singers, including Elis Regina, Chico Buarque, Gal Costa, and Caetano Veloso. He has also written for films, television, and theater. Aldir Blanc was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on August 2, 1946. He began his musical career in the 1960s, writing songs for popular Brazilian singers. He has since written over 500 songs, many of which have become classics in the Brazilian music scene. Aldir Blanc has won numerous awards for his work, including the Latin Grammy Award for Best Song in 2004, the APCA Award for Best Song in 2005, and the Prêmio Sharp Award for Best Song in 2006. He has also been nominated for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Album in 2006 and the Latin Grammy Award for Best Song in 2007.
