Al Novstrup is an American politician who has served in the South Dakota House of Representatives since 2009. He is a member of the Republican Party. Novstrup was born in Sisseton, South Dakota, and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1972. He attended Northern State University and graduated with a degree in business administration in 1976. Novstrup was elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives in 2008 and re-elected in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018. He currently serves as the Majority Leader of the House. Novstrup is married to his wife, Deb, and they have three children. He is 66 years old as of 2020.
