Adam Nussbaum is an American jazz drummer and composer. He is best known for his work with the Pat Metheny Group, Steps Ahead, and the Dave Liebman Group. He has also worked with a variety of other jazz musicians, including John Scofield, Mike Stern, and John Abercrombie. Nussbaum was born in New York City and began playing drums at the age of nine. He attended the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan and later studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Nussbaum has released several albums as a leader, including The Lead Belly Project (2005), The Four Bags (2006), and The Time Being (2008). He has also appeared on numerous albums as a sideman, including Pat Metheny's Offramp (1982) and Still Life (Talking) (1987), Steps Ahead's Modern Times (1985) and Magnetic (1986), and Dave Liebman's Lookout Farm (1973) and Pendulum (1974). Nussbaum has been nominated for several Grammy Awards, including Best Jazz Instrumental Performance for his work on The Lead Belly Project. He has also been nominated for several Downbeat Critics Poll Awards, including Best Drummer in 1985, 1986, and 1987. As of 2021, Adam Nussbaum's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.
