Adam Makos is an American author and historian who was born in 1981 in the United States. He is best known for his books A Higher Call, Devotion, and Spearhead. He is also the founder of the non-profit organization Valor Studios, which is dedicated to preserving the stories of World War II veterans. Makos graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 with a degree in history. He then went on to work as a journalist for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and the Associated Press. In 2008, he published his first book, A Higher Call, which tells the story of a German fighter pilot and an American bomber pilot during World War II. The book was a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into a feature film in 2018. Makos has since written two more books, Devotion and Spearhead, both of which were also New York Times bestsellers. He is currently working on a new book about the Battle of the Bulge. Makos is married and has two children. He currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As of 2021, Adam Makos's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.

2019

In 2019, Makos published a biography titled Spearhead biography about a tank gunner during the United States invasion of Nazi Germany. Only one week after publication the novel made its first appearance of the New York Times Best Seller list. Going as high as number 2 on the nonfiction list.

2018

Makos has published two NY Times Best Sellers; Spearhead and A Higher Call as well as Voices of the Pacific which follows marines and seamen who served in the Pacific during World War II. In 2018 it was announced Makos' third novel Devotion would be turned into a film. The release date has yet to be announced.

2012

Makos has been writing for Valor since high school but his first independent novel was in 2012 when A Higher Call was released, it detailed air battles during World War II and followed the war-time lives of six airmen. Makos saw tremendous success his first novel was on the New York Time Best Seller list for thirteen weeks and sold over 175,000 copies and 110,000 mobile ebook and audio book downloads. Makos has seen success on two more novels, Devotion and Voices of the Pacific.
