Wayne Allwine was an American voice actor, sound effects artist, and sound editor. He was best known for providing the voice of Mickey Mouse from 1977 until his death in 2009. He was also the voice of the character in the Kingdom Hearts video game series. Allwine was born in Glendale, California, and began his career in the entertainment industry in the late 1960s. He worked as a sound editor and sound effects artist on various television shows and films, including The Love Boat, The Dukes of Hazzard, and The Incredible Hulk. In 1977, Allwine was cast as the voice of Mickey Mouse, a role he would continue to voice until his death in 2009. He also provided the voice of the character in the Kingdom Hearts video game series. Allwine was married to Russi Taylor, who provided the voice of Minnie Mouse, from 1991 until his death in 2009. He died on May 18, 2009, at the age of 62, from complications of diabetes.
