Victor Arden was an American composer, pianist, and arranger. He was born in Wenona, Illinois, and began playing the piano at the age of four. He studied at the Chicago Conservatory of Music and later at the New England Conservatory of Music. Arden was a prolific composer, arranger, and performer. He wrote over 500 songs, including "I'm in the Mood for Love," "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles," and "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover." He also wrote the music for the Broadway musicals "No, No, Nanette" and "Hit the Deck." Arden was a popular accompanist for many of the top singers of the day, including Bing Crosby, Al Jolson, and Rudy Vallee. He also wrote arrangements for the Paul Whiteman Orchestra and the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra. Arden was a successful recording artist, releasing over 100 records. He also wrote and arranged music for films, including "The Wizard of Oz" and "The Great Ziegfeld." Victor Arden died in Los Angeles, California, on April 8, 1962. He was 69 years old.
