Tim Bevan is a New Zealand film producer who has been active in the film industry since the early 1980s. He is best known for producing films such as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary, and The Theory of Everything. Bevan was born in Queenstown, New Zealand, on 20 December 1957. He attended the University of Otago, where he studied English and Drama. After graduating, he moved to London, where he worked as a production assistant for the BBC. Bevan's first major success as a producer was the 1994 romantic comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral, which was a box office hit and earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. He went on to produce a number of other successful films, including Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary, and The Theory of Everything. Bevan is the co-founder of Working Title Films, a British film and television production company. Bevan was born in 1957 in Queenstown, New Zealand. From 1969—1974, he was educated at Sidcot School, a Quaker boarding independent school in the Mendip Hills, near the village of Winscombe in North Somerset, in South West England. He then attended Cheltenham College, a boarding independent school in the spa town of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, in the West of England.
