Suresh Krissna is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and actor who has worked in the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi film industries. He is best known for directing the Tamil films Baasha (1995), Annamalai (1992), and Padayappa (1999). Krissna was born on 25 June 1959 in Mumbai, India. He studied at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, and graduated in 1982. He began his career as an assistant director to K. Balachander in the Tamil film Uthiripookkal (1979). Krissna made his directorial debut with the Tamil film Annamalai (1992), starring Rajinikanth. The film was a commercial success and established Krissna as a successful director. He went on to direct several successful films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, including Baasha (1995), Padayappa (1999), and Annamalai (2002). Krissna has also acted in a few films, including the Tamil film Thalaimagan (2006). He has also written the story and screenplay for several films, including the Tamil film Thalaimagan (2006).
