The third season aired in 2018 on SyFy; it was to be the show's final season, but due to overwhelming fan support and a petition with over 100,000 signatures, the show was picked up by Amazon (whose founder Jeff Bezos was a personal fan of both the books and the show) and renewed, with clear plans to continue adapting the book series beyond that fourth season.
