Steve Gadd is an Australian drummer, percussionist, and composer. He is best known for his work with Paul Simon, Steely Dan, Eric Clapton, Chick Corea, and many other artists. He has been active in the music industry since the late 1970s. Gadd was born in 1957 in Tasmania, Australia. He began playing drums at the age of five and was soon performing in local bands. He moved to Melbourne in the late 1970s and began working with some of the city's top jazz musicians. Gadd's career took off in the early 1980s when he began working with Paul Simon. He played on Simon's albums Hearts and Bones and Graceland, and toured with him in support of both albums. He also worked with Steely Dan, Eric Clapton, Chick Corea, and many other artists. Gadd has won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for his work on Paul Simon's "Late in the Evening" in 1981. He has also been inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame and the Percussive Arts Society Hall of Fame. As of 2021, Steve Gadd's net worth is estimated to be roughly $10 million.
