He is also the former executive vice president of television at the William Morris Agency. Haskell was born in Mobile, Alabama, and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1977. He began his career in the entertainment industry in 1979 as a talent agent at the William Morris Agency. He rose through the ranks to become the executive vice president of television at the agency. In 2005, Haskell was hired as the executive producer of the Miss America pageant. He held the position until 2017, when he was forced to resign after emails he had sent were leaked to the press.
