Rui Casaca is a Portuguese football director and former player. He was born on 18 October, 1959 in Marco de Canaveses, Portugal. He is currently the president of the Portuguese Football Federation. Casaca began his career as a player in the Portuguese Second Division with F.C. Marco in 1977. He then moved to the Primeira Liga with F.C. Porto in 1979, where he played for two seasons. He then moved to S.C. Braga, where he played for three seasons. In 1984, he moved to S.L. Benfica, where he played for two seasons. He then moved to S.C. Beira-Mar, where he played for two seasons. Casaca retired from playing in 1988 and began his career as a football director. He was the director of S.C. Braga from 1988 to 1991. He then moved to S.L. Benfica, where he was the director from 1991 to 1994. He then moved to S.C. Beira-Mar, where he was the director from 1994 to 1997. He then moved to F.C. Porto, where he was the director from 1997 to 2000. In 2000, Casaca was appointed as the president of the Portuguese Football Federation. He has held this position ever since.
