Ronnie Dawson is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born in Dallas, Texas, and began his career as a rockabilly singer in the 1950s. He released several singles on the Imperial and Dot labels, and appeared in the films The Girl Can't Help It and Rock All Night. He also appeared on television shows such as American Bandstand and The Ed Sullivan Show. In the 1960s, Dawson moved to Los Angeles and began working as a session musician, playing on recordings by artists such as The Beach Boys, The Monkees, and The Byrds. He also released several solo albums, including Ronnie Dawson Is Alive and Well and Rockin' (1966) and Just Rockin' and Rollin' (1968). In the 1970s, Dawson moved to Austin, Texas, and began performing with the band The LeRoi Brothers. He also released several solo albums, including Rockinitis (1975) and Rockin' Bones (1977). In the 1980s, Dawson began performing with the band The Texas Mavericks, and released the album Rockin' Bones and Other Favorites (1985). He also appeared in the films The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) and The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1994). In the 2000s, Dawson released the album Just Rockin' and Rollin' Again (2005). He continues to perform and record, and is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
