Roberto Salcedo Sr. is a Dominican Republic actor and former Mayor of Santo Domingo, D.N. He is best known for his roles in the films “El Cielo Prohibido” (1996), “La Leyenda de la Llorona” (1997), and “La Leyenda de la Llorona 2” (1998). He has also appeared in television series such as “La Ley de Herodes” (1999) and “La Ley de Herodes 2” (2000). Salcedo Sr. was born in Villa Juana, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on April 18, 1953. He is the son of Emeterio Antonio Salcedo Gavilán and María de los Angeles Gavilán. He has two siblings, Roberto Salcedo Jr. and María de los Angeles Salcedo. Salcedo Sr. attended the University of Santo Domingo, where he studied law. He then went on to become a lawyer and politician. In 1996, he was elected Mayor of Santo Domingo, a position he held until 2000. In addition to his acting and political career, Salcedo Sr. is also a successful businessman. He is the owner of several companies, including a construction company, a real estate company, and a restaurant. He is also the president of the Dominican Republic's National Association of Mayors.
