Rob Base is an American rapper and DJ who rose to fame in the late 1980s with his hit single "It Takes Two". He is best known for his collaborations with DJ E-Z Rock, including the 1988 hit single "It Takes Two". Base was born Robert Ginyard in Harlem, New York City, on May 18, 1967. He began his career as a DJ in the early 1980s, performing at local clubs and parties. He soon began to collaborate with DJ E-Z Rock, and the two released their first single, "DJ Interview", in 1986. In 1988, Base and E-Z Rock released their most successful single, "It Takes Two", which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum. The single was followed by the album of the same name, which was also certified platinum. Base and E-Z Rock released two more albums, 1989's The Incredible Base and 1991's Break of Dawn, before disbanding in 1992. Base continued to release solo albums, including 1994's The Incredible Base II and 1998's The Incredible Base III. Base has also appeared in several films, including the 1994 comedy House Party 3 and the 1995 drama Panther. He has also appeared in television shows, including the sitcom Martin and the reality show Celebrity Fit Club. As of 2021, Rob Base's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.
