Rick Green is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1975 to 1990. He was born on February 20, 1956 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Green was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the first round, 17th overall, of the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. He played for the Capitals, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings, and Hartford Whalers during his NHL career. He was a member of the Canadiens' Stanley Cup-winning team in 1986. Green retired from the NHL in 1990 after 15 seasons. He finished his career with a total of 545 points (128 goals and 417 assists) in 1,039 games. He was inducted into the Belleville Sports Hall of Fame in 1997. As of 2021, Rick Green's net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.

Green was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft, First Overall. He was also drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1976 WHA Amateur Draft, First Round, Tenth Overall. He won the OHA 1976 Max Kaminsky Trophy for Most Outstanding Defenceman as selected by league general managers. He has played for the OHA's London Knights and the NHL's Washington Capitals, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders. He has also been assistant coach for the New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings and Montreal Canadiens. He won the Stanley Cup with Montreal in 1986.
