Priscilla Dean

Dean died at her home in Leonia, New Jersey at the age of 91 on December 27, 1987, from injuries related to a fall she had suffered the previous September.

She married Leslie P. Arnold on October 6, 1928 in Tijuana, Mexico. He was famous as one of the "Around The World Flyers". He was previously married and divorced, and a court rules that his divorce was invalid, making him a bigamist. A later court decree-ruled his divorce valid. Dean and Arnold remained married until his death in the 1960s. She had no children.

Her husband, Lt. Leslie Arnold, made history by flying around the world in 1924.

Close friend of Doris May. An article by Leah Fink in Pantomime Magazine (April 15, 1922, page fifteen) detailed their friendship.

She married Wheeler Oakman, who was also under contract at Universal and appeared in The Virgin of Stamboul and Outside the Law with Priscilla. They divorced in the mid-1920s.

In 1918 she became engaged to American fighter ace in World War I and Medal of Honor recipient Eddie Rickenbacker.

Her appearance in the serial The Gray Ghost (1917) propelled her to stardom, and she began appearing in many of Universal's most prestigious productions.

Her parents were both stage actors, so Priscilla Dean began her career as an infant in their productions. She made her film debut at age 14 in a series of one-reelers for Biograph and several other studios. In 1911 she was hired by Universal Pictures and soon gained popularity as the female lead in the comedy series of Eddie Lyons and Lee Moran.
