Peter Wichers is a Swedish musician, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the former guitarist and songwriter of the melodic death metal band Soilwork. He was born on 8 February 1979 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Wichers started playing guitar at the age of 12 and joined Soilwork in 1998. He wrote and co-wrote many of the band's songs, including the singles "Stabbing the Drama" and "Rejection Role". He left the band in 2005 to pursue a solo career. Wichers has since released two solo albums, "The Chainheart Machine" (2006) and "The Inner Circle" (2008). He has also produced and co-written albums for other bands, including Dark Tranquillity, Scar Symmetry, and The Haunted. Wichers is currently the guitarist and songwriter for the Swedish metal band The Night Flight Orchestra. He is also the founder and CEO of the production company Wichers Music. 2015

After his first split from Soilwork, Wichers moved from Los Angeles, California to Nashville, Tennessee where he worked as a producer and songwriter. Wichers currently lives in North Carolina with his wife, Sara Wichers (who is from North Carolina) with the couple's son. Wichers met Sara in Spain while touring for Soilwork. Peter works for Jackson Guitars since 2015.

2008

September 18, 2008, it was announced that Wichers had rejoined Soilwork in his previous role. Having joined the band again, Wichers accompanied Soilwork on their European tour in late 2008 and the American tour in early 2009. Once the tour was finished, the band wrote and recorded The Panic Broadcast album. On June 25, 2012 it was announced that Wichers left the band for the second time, due to creative differences.
